MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Truman State Track & Field teams resumed their indoor season on Saturday at the Northwest Invitational hosted by Northwest Missouri State University. Addison Walker and Jacob Morris were individual event winners for the Bulldogs with Walker claiming the triple jump and Morris setting a meet record in the weight throw.

Walker bested four other triple jumpers to win the event with a distance of 10.60m (34-09.50). The other three leapers all hit their best marks on the second round of jumping while Walker achieved hers in the third round. She was able to survive the remaining three rounds for the win.  She placed 10th in the long jump and 46th in the 200 meter dash.

Morris moved to three straight wins in the weight throw event this season with his victory over 45 other throwers. His mark of 19.65m (64-05.25) was a new meet record that was 19.49m set in 2019. Morris' mark of 19.77m tossed back in December is currently sixth on the Division II qualification list. 

Other performances of note on Saturday, Kelly Hoskins was fourth in the men's pole vault (3.90m) and ninth in the triple jump (12.26m), Sophie Oxandale was fifth in the 800-meter run (2:16.76), Lexi Henrikson was fifth in the mile run (5:07.99), Raina Baker was eighth in the women's 400-meter dash (1:00.85),  Alayna Pipkin was eighth in the 800-meter run (2:22.44), Breanna Mathes was eighth in the 3000-meter run (10:46.99) and Leithym Messer was ninth in the men's weight throw (15.39m).

The women's 4x400 relay team of Oxandale, Kendall Dasher, Baker and Pipkin finished seventh with a time of 4:06.33

The teams will next be in action at the Central (Iowa) College Heptathlon next weekend.
