KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman State Track & Field teams set several personal bests and sent runners to Saturday's finals on the second day of the GLVC Outdoor Track & Field championships.
The women had 11 personal best performances on Friday and scored team points in the 3000-meter Steeplechase along with finalist in the 800-meter run.
Kate Yates was fifth in the Steeplechase with a time of 11:40.20 while
Kati Schoeneberg was seventh in 11:57.24. The third runner for Truman in the race set a PR,
McKenna Ledgerwood with a time of 12:16.44.
Raina Baker and
Lydia Lehmbeck with compete for hardware in the 800 on Saturday after advancing out of the prelims. Baker finished in 2:18.41 while Lehmbeck scored a heat victory blistered her PR down to 2:16.21. That time is the third fastest for the finals.
Kendall Dascher has a PR at 2:21.48.
Cassidy Boord scored points in the women's Pole Vault by finishing seventh at 2.28 meters.
Over on the men's side,
Hayden Long was fourth in the men's Decathlon on Friday. Long scored the most points in a single event with 694 coming in the Javelin with a mark of 57.11. He won the Discus with a throw of 39.50 meters for 654 points. He totaled a PR 6,074 points in the 10 events.
Tyler Davis just missed the podium in the men's Shot Put as he finished fourth at 15.49 meters.
Kelly Hoskins scored points in the men's Pole Vault finishing fifth (4.34m).
Men's PRs were achieved by
Cooper Doolin in the 100-meter dash (10.96),
Nolan Meara in the Steeplechase (9:59.90) and
Brycen Compton in the 800 (1:56.35).
Saturday's field events will start at 9 a.m. with the men's Discus and Triple Jump and women's Javelin and High Jump.
