ROMOVILLE, Ill. - The first full day of competition at the 2025 Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field championships are in the books.
The Truman State women will send five to the finals of the 800-meter run after
Lexy Henrikson,
Lydia Lehmbeck,
Phoebe Canatsey,
Raina Baker and
Madeline Sims snatched five of the nine spots for Saturday's final. Henrikson qualified third with a time of 2:17.44.
Carmen Gentilia was one one-hundredth of a second behind Sims in 10
th place. Canatsey and Sims ran PRs as did
Kendra Zeilstra.
Kaela Perez nabbed a finals spot in the 400-meter hurdles going 1:08.29 in the qualifying round in ninth position. Perez ran a PR time in the 100-meter hurdles earlier in the day at 15.86.
Kati Schoeneberg and
McKenna Ledgerwood scored team points with runs in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Schoeneberg ran a PR 11:23.88 to claim the bronze medal and all-GLVC honors while Ledgerwood posted a PR 11:35.08 for sixth.
Other PRs were achieved by
McKenzie Vradenburg in the 100-meter dash,
Julia Brown and Maddie Hall in the 400-meter dash and
Addison Walker in the long jump. On Thursday night,
Ellie Webb ran a PR in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 39:35.65.
On the men's ledger,
Brycen Compton earned a spot in the 800-meter run finals. He qualified11th with a time of 1:55.95.
Michael Bottary broke a personal barrier as he ran 1:59.96.
Nolan Meara scored points with a seventh place and personal best finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Meara ran the event in 9:45.03 taking 13 seconds off his pervious best.
Earlier in the afternoon, two other Bulldogs scored for Truman State with
Alex Long posting a fourth in the discus and
Tyler Davis finishing eighth.
Dominic Novotny set a new personal best in the event at 38.47 meters.
The GLVC Championships will wrap up on Saturday.
