KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman State Swimming teams split their home debut on Saturday with Saint Ambrose (Iowa) University. The women were victorious 138-67 while the men fell to the Bees 115-87.
Eleven Bulldogs won events during the meet with three double winners.
Meg Heveroh and
Peyton Sewell took the 1650-yard free events on both sides of the leger. Heveroh won in 17:56.10 and Sewell swam 17:09.77.
The 200 frees were swept by the Bulldogs.
Kylie Strobl won the women's race in 2:00.04 and
AJ Kohler won by three seconds with a time of 1:43.90.
Kohler and
Chloe Myers claimed the victories in the 100 Fly with Kohler swimming 50.02 and Myers going 1:01.53. Myers also won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:08.08.
Both 100 backstroke events were won by Bulldogs. Natallie Nguyen swam 1:01.23 and
Alex Burkhardt swam 54.98.
Emily Traube took both the 50 and 100 free swims. She went 24.28 in the 50 and 53.56 in the 100.
Taylor Graham led three Bulldogs to the wall in the 500 free with a time of 5:24.00. She was followed by
Emma Harris and
Kylie Strobl.
Sidney Durbin did the same in the 400 IM as she raced to a time of 4:46.87 and was followed by
Allison Heaney and
Peyton Wells.
The women's 800 free relay was also a winner with a time of 8:10.32. Heveroh, Harris, Strobl and Traube were the members of that relay squad.
The Bulldogs return to the pool against Missouri-St. Louis this Saturday in Kirksville.
