AMES, Iowa - Three players scored in double-figures as the Truman State Women's Basketball team played their final exhibition game of the preseason at Iowa State on Wednesday evening. The Cyclones led by only three after the first quarter and won 88-68.
The Bulldogs led by five after nearly five minutes of play and trailed 15-12 after the first 10 minutes.
Iowa State extended the lead to 10 at halftime but the Bulldogs did outscore the Cyclones 23-22 in the fourth quarter.
Emma Bulman, who is from Ames, Iowa and played at Gilbert High School, led the Bulldogs in scoring with 14 points with a pair of three-pointers.
Ellie Weltha notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds while Lexie White scored 13 points with six free throws made.Â
Former Bulldog Hannah Belanger made her debut with the Cyclones and in 30 minutes, scored six points and added five assists.
The Bulldogs will tip off their season a week from Friday at the GLVC/GMAC Challenge hosted in Quincy, Illinois. Truman State will open with Ursuline (Ohio) on Friday (Nov. 10) at noon and then play Cedarville (Ohio) on Saturday (Nov. 11) at 5 p.m.
