SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Truman State Women's basketball defeated Davenport 82-74 in the final day of the Oasis Hotel & Convention Center Thanksgiving Classic hosted by Drury.
With 26 seconds left in the first quarter, Davenport led 24-15, and extended it to a 12-point lead with under five minutes remaining in the half. The Bulldogs clawed back to cut the Davenport lead to one going into halftime.
Ainsley Tolson gave Truman the lead at the 8:41 mark of the third quarter, and the Bulldogs would not give the lead up the rest of the game.
Ellie Weltha led all scorers in points with 25 and grabbed 11 boards to record a double-double. She added two assists and shot an efficient 10-18 from the field.
Ainsley Tolson also scored double-digit points with 18, going 5-7 from the field, 1-1 from three, and 7-8 on free throws.
Gracie Neff led the Bulldogs in assists with six.
As a team, Truman shot 44.6% and 36.4% from three.
Truman now has a recorded of 3-3 and takes on GLVC foe McKendree next on Saturday, November 25th at 1 p.m. in Lebanon, Ill.
