ST. PAUL, Minn. - Southwest Minnesota State handed Truman State Men's basketball a 79-69 loss on Sunday afternoon.
The Bulldogs and Mustangs traded leads in the first half, with SMSU going into the break up 33-32.
The game stayed close for the first seven minutes of the second-half, but the Mustangs pulled away and held a double-digit lead for nearly the rest of the game.
Truman shot 20-55 (36.4%) from the field and 12-29 (41.4%) on 3-pointers. The Bulldogs had a good day at the free throw line, going 17-20 (85%).
Brennan Lovette, Kobi Williams, Trey Shearer, and Xavier Hall all recorded 10+ points for Truman State.Â
Lovette led the team in points with 17 along with five boards, an assists, a block, and a steal.
Williams was not far behind in points, recording 16 with five rebounds and four assists.
Truman State opens up GLVC play against Upper Iowa University at home on Saturday, December 2nd, at 3 p.m.
