INDIANAPOLIS – The first Great Lakes Valley Conference weekly Track & Field awards features Truman State's All-American thrower
Jacob Morris. He was named the GLVC Thrower of the Week after setting a new school and meet record in the Weight Throw at the Mel Tjeersma Classic on Saturday.
Morris won the Weight Throw with his fifth throw of the meet of 19.92 meters. That distance was the third farthest mark in Division II thus far and broke his own school record of 19.88 meters set last season. He also placed second in the Shot Put with a mark of 15.97 meters.
This is the fifth indoor weekly award Morris has earned during his career and ninth overall. He was named the GLVC Male Field Athlete of The Year following the outdoor season in May.
