QUINCY, Ill. - Double-doubles by Alex Fanning and Ellie Weltha along with 20 points from Hannah Belanger allowed the Truman State Women's Basketball team to pick up a 67-51 road win at Quincy on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs will close out the regular season next weekend with games at Rockhurst and William Jewell.
Truman led by just two at 11-9 after the first quarter but outscored Quincy 21-10 in the second to seize control of the game. The Hawks made a little push in the third quarter, outscoring Truman 21-18 but the Bulldogs closed it out with a 17-11 fourth.
Belanger was 8-of-15 from the field for 20 points, with only two makes from distance. Weltha added 17 and grabbed 12 rebounds while Fanning dumped in 12 points, had 10 boards and was also tops on the team with six assists.Â
Quincy was led by Beth Mates Martin and 17 points, playing all 40 minutes.
The Bulldogs are now 18-8 on the season and have taken the last 12 meetings with their neighbors to the east.
