JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - Jacob Morris swept both throwing events and several Bulldogs once again improved on their personal bests at the Truman State Track & Field squads competed in the Hilltop Invite at Illinois College on Friday night.
Morris won the weight throw with a mark of 19.14 with Leithym Messer improving on his top distance in the event to 15.44 meters and grabbing fourth. In the shot put, Morris went 15.58 while Tyler Davis got the silver with a PR throw of 14.56 meters. Davis also had a season-best weight throw at 11.29.
Max Fuller shaved six seconds off his 3000 meter time with an eighth place finish in 9:28.38.
Kirsten Poole had the highest individual finish on the women's side with a fourth in the 55-meter hurdles. Poole ran a PR 9.18 in the event.
Molly Bies ran 2:29.25 in the 800 which was three seconds better than her previous best and Addison Walker set a PR in the 200 with a time of 28.59.
Jaylynn Martin had PRs in both her throwing events. She went 9.52 in the shot and 11.63 in the weight. Destiny Zimdars and Elaina Gorton both had PRs in the weight throw at 13.33 and 13.16 respectively.
The Bulldogs will next head to the University of Indianapolis next weekend for the Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Championships.
