EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The first full day of competition at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Swimming & Diving Championships are in the books. The Truman women scored 212 points on day one and are in sixth place, while the men have 118 points and are stationed ninth.
AJ Kohler and Dan Fink grabbed individual points for the men's team on Wednesday. Kohler qualified 17th and finished 20th in the 50 free with a time of 20.74 while Fink placed 24th in the 1000 meter free.
On Tuesday evening, Kohler, Jax Mahlstadt, Alex Burkhardt and Fink swam 6:50.29 to place eighth in the 800 free relay.
Meg Heveroh busted a personal-best time of 10:27.48 to reach the podium and earn a seventh place finish in the 1000 meter free. Emma Harris also had a PR time of 10:58.93 to score points and finished 17th overall.
Emily Traube qualified 20th and finished 19th in the women's 50 meter free swim while three ladies swam in the finals of the 200 IM. Chloe Myers was 16th (2:10.97), Sidney Durbin 18th (2:10.43) and Allison Heaney 21st (2:12.57).
The 200 medley relay closed out Wednesday night with the women finishing sixth (Kylie Strobl, Myers, Holly Olson and Taylor Graham) in 1:48.33 and the men placing 9th (Evan Grinter, Ashton Bailey, Noah May and Jacob Pocivasek) with a time of 1:35.71.
Traube, Heveroh, Adelaide Reaser and Strobl took fifth on Tuesday during the 800 free relay with a time of 7:38.29.
Reaser is seeded first on Thursday in her event, the 400 IM.
Action gets back underway with the prelims of the 100 fly, 400 IM and 200 free on Thursday at 10 a.m.
