Emily Traube Breaks Long-Standing School Record In Night Three Of GLVC

ELKHART, Ind. - Emily Traube's prelim time of 1:48.73 broke a 23-year-old school record and later in the evening, she finished third in the 200 Free at night three of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Swimming & Diving Championships. 

Traube was the top qualifier in the morning prelims as her time bested Diana Betsworth's national championship-winning time of 1:48.74 that was set in March of 2002. In the final, she touched the wall in 1:49.17 to finish behind swimmers from McKendree and Drury. Traube will look to defend her GLVC title in the 100 Free on Saturday. 

100 Fly - A.J. Kohler qualified 17th and made the C-Final of the event and was third in the final with a time of 48.49, 19th overall. Of the eight other men that swam in the prelims, seven recorded season best times. Those were Cameron Lee (49.88), Drake Durbin (50.32), Dawson Behl (51.19), Aiden Moore (52.14), Andrew Greene (52.85), Will Henderson (56.30) and John White (57.83.

Three of the four Bulldog women who took to the blocks also had season-best times. Chloe Myers (1:01.50), Sophie Ragsdell (1:04.29) and Peyton Wells (1:09.64).

400 IM - Sidney Durbin and Allison Heaney both swam in the C-Final of the event. Durbin qualified 19th with a time of 4:29.84 and Heaney was 23rd with a SB time of 4:43.21. In the C-Final, Heaney busted a season-best time of 4:38.30 and placed fifth in the race while Durbin finished 24th overall. 

Eli Springvloed and Peyton Sewell finished 33rd and 37th in the prelims for the men.

200 Free - Traube qualified with the top time in the event, surpassing her NCAA B-cut time with a 1:48.73 mark, however in the final, she fell off the pace and swam 1:49.17 to finish third. Meg Heveroh and Kylie Strobl were in the B-Final. Stobl lowered her time from the prelims to 1:53.32 to place fourth in the race and 12th overall while Heveroh was 14th overall with a time of 1:54.60. In the C-Final, Taylor Graham was fourth with a best time of 1:56.50, Emma Harris was fifth at 1:58.10 and Marianne Dean was seventh in 1:59.03. 

Colin Wolfmeyer has the highest finisher for the men in 46th position, Gavin Bergmann swam a SB time at 1:45.17.

400 Medley Relay - The women's squad of Jahmia Harley, Chloe Myers, Meg Heveroh and Emily Traube scored 50 team points with a fifth place finish. The group touched in 3:50.53.  In the B-Final, Emma Harris, Allison Heaney, Sidney Durbin and Marianne Dean went 4:02.58 and in 17th.

The men's relay saw Evan Grinter, Michal Ragsdell, Miles McIntyre and Drake Durbin swim 3:24.42 to pick up 34 points and Dawson Behl, Ashton Bailey, Aiden Moore and Andrew Greene swim 3:31.11 for eight points. 

Friday's events include the 500 Free, 100 Back, 100 Breast, 200 Fly along with the 200 Free Relay.
