ELKHART, Ind. - Emily Traube's bid to go back-to-back in the women's 100 free came up an eyelash short as she was the silver medalist in the race on the final night of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Swimming & Diving Championships.
Traube had the top time out of prelims at 50.03 and swam a PR of 49.96 in the finals, however Indianapolis' Kirby Namutebi touched in 49.92 to win the race. Kylie Strobl was third in the C-Final and finished 19th overall.
Meg Heveroh finished fourth in the meet's endurance race, the 1650-free. Heveroh swam in 17:05.85. She already has an NCAA B-cut time in the event.Â
In the 200 Back, Jahmia Harley was in the B-Final and placed 13th overall and Emma Harris in the C-Final and finished 22nd.
The Bulldogs had three representatives in the C-Final of the 200 Breast. Sidney Durbin was 20th, Chloe Myers was 22nd and Allison Heaney was 23rd.Â
To close the meet, the 400 Free Relay saw three seniors and a sophomore led the Truman State women to a fifth place finish in the final event of the meet. Heveroh, Strobl and Traube were joined by Layla Walker on the squad and they finished in 3:30.25.
The second team of Jahmia Harley, Nerma Hrsic, Ana Williamson and Emma Harris was 7th in their race and 17th overall with a time of 3:40.56.
Peyton Sewell scored men's points in the 1650-free with a time of 16:45.33, good for 25th.Â
In the men's 400 Free Relay, Colin Wolfmeyer, Drake Durbin, Cameron Lee and A.J. Kohler touched the wall in 3:05.74 to place eighth.
The women finished in six place out of 10 school and accumulated 679 points. Drury edged out Indianapolis by a 1996 to 1921 margin for the league crown.
The men finished in 10th place with Drury winning the league title over second place McKendree.Â
