KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Truman State baseball lost both games of the first doubleheader against University of Mary on Saturday, falling 21-2 and 2-0.
Game One:
Mary got the scoring started in the first, putting up three runs on a fielder's choice and a Truman error.
The Bulldogs got two back in the sixth with a Holden Missey double to right that scored a pair of Truman baserunners.
The Marauders scored three more in the eighth before scoring 15 in the top of the ninth.
Missey and Simon Murray each recorded two hits, with Missey having the lone RBIs.
Tal Dean went 1-4 with a run and Luke Turner also went 1-4.
Zachry Schneider took his first loss of the season, throwing seven innings and giving up four earned runs. He recorded three strikeouts and had two unearned runs.
Game Two:
The Bulldogs could not get the bats going in the second game, tallying two hits in the seven innings played.
Mary scored in the fourth off a solo home run and in the sixth with a sacrifice fly.
Holden Missey and Simon Murray had Truman's only hits.
Missey threw all seven innings, striking out five and and allowing eight hits.
Truman State plays two more against Mary tomorrow, March 5th, at noon and 3 p.m. to round out the series.
