AZUSA, Calif. - The California Dreaming' Bulldogs had strong performances again on Saturday as part of both the Azusa Pacific Bryan Clay Invitational and the Long Beach State Invite.
Earlier in the day, newly minted 800-record holder Sophie Oxandale set a new PR in Long Beach as she ran 57.47 in the 400-meter dash and finished 19th out of 56 runners. The Bulldog record in the event is held by Kasye Hahn at 55.75 set in 2002.
Lexy Henrikson came within an eyelash of breaking one of the oldest records in the Truman books in the women's 1500-meter run. Henrikson finished ninth out of 156 runners and ran a best 4:36.68. The Bulldog mark has been held by Hall of Fame Kerry Knepper since 1990 at 4:36.54 (-.14 seconds).Â
Addie Mathis also set a new best time in the event at 4:39.63.Â
Nathan Key competed in the men's 1500-meter race and timed 4:12.80.
