KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Truman State baseball took two tough losses in a Saturday doubleheader against ranked Illinois Springfield 10-1 and 11-1.
Game One:
The Prairie Stars started the first game hot, scoring nine runs in the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth innings.
Dakota Spicer got the Bulldogs on the board with an RBI single that brought Luke Roussel home.
UIS added a tenth run in the seventh.
Spicer, Dylan Thompson, and Tyler Tieman had Truman's three hits in the game.
Simon Murray stole two bases in the game and also got hit by a pitch.
Game Two:
UIS started the second game strong as well, going up 7-0 after six innings.
Luke Turner hit a home run to left in the bottom of the sixth to make it 7-1.
Illinois Springfield scored four more in the seventh go up 10.
Holden Missey went 2-2 with a walk in the game.
Luke Turner went 1-3 with the home run in the sixth.
Grant Beck also had a hit along with a walk.
The Bulldogs play the final game of the series tomorrow at noon.
