KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Truman State baseball won the final game of their series against No. 22 Illinois Springfield 8-1 on Sunday afternoon.
The Bulldogs and Prairie Stars were scoreless through two innings before Truman got on the board with a double-steal where Holden Missey took second and Luke Turner came scored at home.
In the fifth, Holden Missey hit an RBI-single that scored Simon Murray and Dakota Spicer hit a three-run home run to left that brought Dylan Thompson and Missey home.
Will Fromm hit a three-RBI double down the left field line that scored Dakota Spicer, Dylan Thompson, and Holden Missey to make it 8-0 Truman.
UIS hit a home run in the top of the ninth to score their lone run of the game.
Dakota Spicer and Will Fromm each drove in three in the game, with Spicer scoring twice.
Holden Missey went 1-1 with one RBI, two runs, and three walks.
Grant Beck also recorded a hit.
The Bulldogs had five steals in the game, with Luke Turner and Holden Missey having two each and Simon Murray stole a bag as well.
Isaac Epp threw eight shutout innings, striking out four, allowing only four hits, and walking two.
Michael Daggett shut the door in the ninth, striking out a batter and allowing a run.
Truman plays their final four games of the season at home against McKendree starting on Friday, May 5th, at 3 p.m.
