KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The Truman State Tennis team knocked off future Great Lakes Valley Conference opponent Upper Iowa by a 6-1 score in a home tennis dual on Wednesday afternoon at the Truman Tennis Courts. The Bulldogs return to action on Friday hosting Fort Hays (Kan.) State at 2 p.m.
The Bulldogs picked up their 10th win of the season and have now recorded double-digit wins in the last two seasons.
Samantha Seggerman and Julia Fangman won number one doubles 7-6 (7-4) after trailing the the match by a 5-2 score. Sydney Dial and Akansha Negi cruised in their match 6-0 to help the Bulldogs claim the doubles point.
Upper Iowa traveled with four players so only three singles matches were played out.Â
Negi played number one and won 6-2, 6-1. Kennedy Shirey fell in her match at number two 6-1, 6-1 and Dial claimed victory at number three with a 3-6, 6-4, 10-5 win.
