PELLA, IOWA - A busy Friday for Truman State Track & Field as they competed at the Central (Iowa) College Invite. Quinn Albertson brought home the only gold with a win in the women's javelin.
Albertson set a new personal record in the javelin with a launch of 39.47 to win the event. Jaylynn Martin was fourth at 37.67 and Natalie Telep was eighth at 34.55.
Ellie Weltha placed highly in both the shot put and discus events. Weltha earned a bronze in the discus with a mark of 43.13 and was fourth in the shot with a season best 13.97.Â
Addison Walker placed fourth in the triple jump at 10.45 meters and fifth in the long jump at 5.08 meters.
Jacob Morris finished second in the discus (53.56), fourth in the shot put (15.32) and sixth in the hammer (56.02). Tyler Davis set a PR in the shot with a fifth place finish (15.15).
Cooper Doolin set new personal standards in a pair of sprints and finished in the top 10 in each race. Doolin ran 11.01 to place fifth in the 100 meter dash and 22.70 to finish eighth in the 200.
Next week, the Bulldogs will send a handful of mid-distance runners out to California and the Bryan Clay Invite at Azusa Pacific University while the rest of the team will held to Des Moines for the Drake University Jim Duncan Invite.
