Bulldogs Blitz Southwest Baptist 99-75 Thursday

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Claire Rake scored a career-high 23 points on seven three-pointers and Maddie Niemeier notched her first career double-double as the Truman State Women got off the snide with a 99-75 beatdown over Southwest Baptist on Thursday evening.

Rake hit three triples in the first quarter and a 10-0 run by the Bulldogs to start the second forced a Bearcat timeout and moved Truman State in front 28-21 with 6:50 to go in the half.

Rake drained her sixth triple with 1:45 in the half and had 18 points in the first with the Bulldogs up 47-35.

The third quarter was much the same as Truman outscored SBU 28-16 and put it in cruise control in the fourth to pick up their first conference win of the season.

Rake set a career mark with her seven threes and finished with 23 points in 22 minutes of play. Niemeier scored 10 with a career-high 11 rebounds and added six assists. Bailey Kliewer scored 19 points, Ellie Weltha had 11 and Emma Bulman scored 10.
