KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Olivia Morris' goal in the 74th minute allowed the Truman State Women's Soccer team to draw even with William Jewell on Sunday as the two schools finished deadlocked at one goal apiece.
The Cardinals took advantage of a misplay on the Bulldog defensive end to go up 1-0 as Lux Sands corralled a loose ball and shot it off of keeper Tatum Damron into the net. Damron blocked the shot but it ricocheted off her into the corner of the net in the 16th minute.
The Bulldogs had some solid scoring chances late in the first half and starting midway through the second controlled the action. Quinn Nauman was able to dribble the ball down to the end line before centering it back to Morris for her first goal of the season, and sixth career strike.
Truman State kept the pressure on but couldn't get one past the Cardinals keeper.
The Bulldogs took 11 shots in the second half with four on target.
Truman State is now 2-4-4 overall and 1-3-4 in the conference. They will be at Drury for an 11 a.m. start on Friday.
