SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A score in the 57th minute by 17th-ranked Drury cost Truman State in early afternoon GLVC action Friday.
The Bulldog defense slowed a Panther team that won its previous two matches by a combined 7-1 score over conference foes Upper Iowa and Lewis (Ill.), but the Purple and White were unable to keep Drury off the board after a scoreless first half. Bella Hernandez found the net off an assist by Elena Perez for Drury, which proved to be all the Panthers would need in the 1-0 win.
Drury tallied 17 shots to none from Truman State. Bulldog keeper
Tatumn Damron's seven saves matches a season high (vs. Missouri Southern, Sept. 12).
The Bulldogs fall to 3-5-4 overall, 2-4-3 GLVC, while Drury's 9-1 record, 11-1-2 overall, is tops in the league.
Truman State returns to action against Southwest Baptist at 12 p.m. Sunday in Bolivar, Mo.
