INDIANAPOLIS - Sophomore guard
Molly Joyce earned the first Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week award after leading Truman State in a pair of wins over the weekend.
The reigning GLVC Freshman of the Year averaged 22.5 points in two wins and established a new single-game high with 34 points coming in the victory over Ursuline (Ohio) on Saturday. Joyce knocked down six three-pointers in that game and seven for the weekend while shooting 56% from the floor and adding three assists, seven rebounds and four steals. Her previous high-point in a collegiate game was 24 against Southwest Baptist on February 29.
She scored 11 points in the opener against Cedarville (Ohio).
The Bulldogs won both games, 74-61 to the Yellow Jackets and 81-60 over the Arrows. They will head to Minnesota for games against Concordia-St. Paul and Winona State this upcoming Friday and Saturday.
