Truman State Women's Basketball Announces Signing Class

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Truman State Women's Basketball has signed Morgan Miller (Iowa City, Iowa), Avery Rausch (Lee's Summit, Mo.) and Kennedy Retherford (Pewaukee, Wis.) to the squad for the 2025-26 season.

"We're excited to welcome these three players to our women's basketball family. Each of them embodies the values of our program, demonstrates the dedication needed to succeed academically at Truman, and will strengthen our competitiveness in the GLVC. I want to extend my gratitude to Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator Dajae Black, Graduate Assistant Coach Trinitee Jackson, and former Graduate Assistant Coach Alex Fanning for their key roles in securing another outstanding recruiting class."

Morgan Miller (Iowa City, Iowa/Regina Catholic HS)
Miller has already accomplished over 1,000 career points, knocked down over 200 three-pointers and grabbed over 300 rebounds in her first three seasons at Regina Catholic High School. As a junior, Miller averaged 19.5 points with 3.8 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 3.9 steals per game. She was named the River Valley Conference Most Valuable Player and was a first-team all-State selection for the second time in her high school career. She has been a member of three River Valley Conference championships. Miller is a member of the National Honor Society and is on the school's gold Honor Roll.

Coach Dean on Miller: "We're grateful to have Morgan joining our program! She's a scoring-point guard who can impact our transition game both on and off the ball. She's someone who can get hot quickly from three and understand how to use that threat to setup her teammates. With the relentless effort she gives on both sides of the court, Morgan will be a great addition to our Bulldog Family!"

Avery Rausch (Lee's Summit, Mo./Lee's Summit HS)
Rausch will start her senior season at Lee's Summit 70 points shy of 1,000 for her high school career. She has been a member of the all-conference and all-district teams and averaged 11.2 points and 4.3 rebounds through her first three seasons. Last year, her team captured a district championship and finished 17-13 overall. Rausch has earned the Principal's Honor Roll and is a member of both the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society.

Coach Dean on Rausch: "We're thrilled to have Avery as part of our team! She's a versatile forward who has guard-like playmaker skills. She has a knack for being an efficient scorer and has the defensive IQ to guard all 5 positions. Avery has continued to develop her game year after year, and I'm excited to see her in our system. Avery will be a great addition to our Bulldog Family!"

Kennedy Retherford (Pewaukee, Wis./Pewaukee HS)
Retherford has played in three state championship games through her junior season at Pewaukee High School. Last year, the Pirates captured the Division 2 state title and finished with a 29-1 overall record. They went 28-2 in her sophomore season and 26-4 as a freshman. Retherford shoots 44% from the field with over 400 points, nearly 250 rebounds, and around 80 assists and steals in her first three seasons. She has also been a member of the High Honor Roll at the school.

Coach Dean on Retherford: "We can't wait to get Kennedy on campus! She's a knock-down shooter who's really worked to develop her game off the dribble. She takes on the challenge defensively and comes from a high school with rich tradition. With her ability to stretch the floor on offense and her work ethic, Kennedy will be a great addition to our Bulldog Family!"
