MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Truman State Track & Field teams began their indoor season at the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic on Saturday hosted by Northwest Missouri State University.
Graduate student Justin Moeller posted three top five finishes and also earned a spot in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles in his Bulldog debut.
Moeller took second in the long jump, third in the triple jump, fourth in the high jump and after qualifying third in the hurdles, placed eighth.
Evan AuBuchon claimed second in the mile run while Ryan Gustafson was sixth. Leithym Messer posted the top finish of the throwers with a fourth in the weight throw.
On the women's side, Kendra Zeilstra earned the silver medal in the mile run and led a pack of Bulldogs to the finish line. Jocelyn Dorsey placed third and Sophia Kim was fourth.
Raina Baker was the bronze medalist in the 600-yard run.
The Bulldogs will take some athletes to the University of Iowa next weekend.
