INDIANAPOLIS – A new school record earned Truman State Track & Field thrower Jacob Morris his second indoor Athlete of the Week honor by the Great Lakes Valle Conference.
 
Morris went over the 20-meter threshold in the weight throw on Friday at Pittsburg (Kan.) State when he finished second in the event with a mark of 20.34 meters. His previous best was 19.92 meters set earlier this season.
 
That mark places him second on the GLVC performance list and ninth on the Division II performance list with two weeks left in the regular indoor season. The Bulldogs will be at Illinois College in Jacksonville on Friday followed by the GLVC Championships in Indianapolis next weekend.
 
This is the 10^th weekly award for Morris in his career, six coming during the indoor season.
