KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Xavier Hall scored a career-high 27 points to help Truman State pick up their fifth-straight win.
The Bulldogs took a 23-7 lead with 10:56 left in the first-half, but the Maryville Saints fought back hard to cut the deficit. Maryville took their first lead of the game with 2:54 left in the half, going up 31-30. Truman State managed to go into the break up 37-34.
Truman led the entirety of the second-half until the Maryville took the lead back with 6:11 left, going up 59-58. Matt Haefner made a layup to give the Bulldogs the lead and Trey Shearer hit two free throws up go up 62-59. Truman State extended their lead to nine with 1:30 left in the game, and the Bulldogs made their late-game free throws to take an 81-75 victory.
Xavier Hall had a game and career-high 27 points on an incredibly efficient 11-13 shooting. Hall also had six rebounds, two assists, and three steals.
Matt Haefner was a rebound away from a double-double, scoring 17 with nine rebounds. Haefner dished out three assists which was tied with Trey Shearer for the team-high.
Shearer had 15 points on 5-8 shooting, adding three rebounds, three assists, and a steal.
Kobi Williams was Truman's fourth double-digit scorer with 12. Williams also had three rebounds.
The Bulldogs are now 12-11 overall and 9-6 in conference play.
Truman looks to extend their streak to six when they play Missouri S&T next on Saturday at 3 p.m.
