The 4-5 Truman State softball team begins play in the Rosemont Dome Tournament where they will have seven games in four days. The Bulldogs will play Purdue Northwest, Parkside, Wayne State, Bemidji State, Grand Valley State, Minnesota State Moorhead, and Hillsdale College.

Last week, Truman went 2-2 against Winona State and Southwest Minnesota State in Sioux Center, Iowa. They lost to Winona State 7-1 and 8-7 in nine innings, then beat Southwest Minnesota State 5-3 and 5-4.

Emily Wood, Cameryn Patterson, Charlotte Chelich, and Cassie Smith are all batting over .400 through nine games. Wood leads the team in OPS, runs, hits, and total bases.

Madie Anderson is leading in ERA at 6.00 in 21.0 innings pitched. She has a 1-1 record and one complete game so far.

Coming off tough losses to Maryville and Missouri S&T last week, the Women's basketball team looks to pick up two wins against Illinois Springfield and Quincy. Thursday's game against UIS is a purple out and Saturday's matchup with Quincy is Senior Day.

Ellie Weltha will be one of the seniors being honored on Saturday, and she leads the team in scoring with 16.7 points per game. Weltha also leads the squad in FG%, rebounds per game, and blocks per game.

Freshman Molly Joyce has had a great start to her career, averaging 10.1 points per game which is second behind Weltha. She averages 1.1 steals per game which leads the Bulldogs.

The Illinois Springfield Prairie Stars are 14-11 overall and 12-7 in the GLVC. The Quincy Hawks are 9-16 this season and 8-11 in conference play.

The red hot Truman State Men's basketball team is riding a six game win streak after defeating Maryville and Missouri S&T last week. The Bulldogs look to make it eight in a row when they play Illinois Springfield and Quincy. 

Xavier Hall was named GLVC Men's basketball Player of the Week after he scored 27 points against Maryville and 22 against Missouri S&T. It was Truman's first award since January 23rd, 2023.

Trey Shearer (12.4), Kobi Williams (12.3), and Xavier Hall (11.6) are all scoring double-digit points per game, with four others averaging 6+.

Illinois Springfield is 16-11 overall and 9-8 in the GLVC. Quincy has a record of 11-14 and 6-11 in conference.

Truman State tennis competes against Principia and Greenville in St. Louis, Mo. after defeating Evangel 5-2 on February 9th.

In their match against Evangel, Truman won all three of their doubles matches and went 4-2 in singles.

Sydney Dial is 5-0 overall and Abbi Worster is 4-1. The pairing of Allie Brown and Sydney Dial are 4-1 in doubles matches.

Truman State track and field compete in the GLVC Indoor Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana after a successful regular season.

In their last meet, Jacob Morris cleared 20-meters for the second straight week in the weight throw and won the event with a mark of 20.14. In the shot put, Morris finished second behind Kirksville native and Missouri S&T thrower Owen Fraser with a distance an NCAA provisional distance of 16.48 meters. Fraser won with 17.07 meters.
 
Hoskins entered the long jump and pole vault and set a new PR in the long jump as he flew 6.34 meters. His previous best was 6.19.  In the vault, he cleared 3.97 meters on his first attempt but could not get over 4.12 and finished sixth.
 
Davis set two of the men's team's nine PRs on Friday. Both came in his throw events as he placed third in the shot put at 15.99 meters and was 22nd in the weight throw at 12.59 meters. Other PRs on the men's team were set by Ryan Harness in the 3000 meter run (9:05.05), Hayden Long in the long jump (6.21), Nick Fuess and Dan Hahn in the mile run (4:55.50/4:53.05) and Leithyn Mess in the weight throw (15.89).
 
The women had six personal bests set during the meet. Emma Schultz in the 3000-meter run (11:36.03), Lyla Rider in the 800 meter run (2:41.68), Vada Moore in the long jump (4.85), Kati Schoeneberg in the mile (5:32.10) and both Hailey Derboven (8.41) and Audrey Gilmore(9.80) in the triple jump.
 
Gilmore matched Schultz for the highest individual finish for an event with both placing fifth.

This week, Truman State baseball will travel to the Heart of Dixie to play three games against Alabama-Huntsville.

The Bulldogs took a trip to Topeka, Kansas where they went 1-2 against Washburn University. Truman took the first game 7-4 before dropping the next two.

The Alabama-Huntsville Chargers are 7-4 so far, sweeping GLVC member McKendree in three games.

Freshman Dakota Joggerst leads the squad in batting average, hitting .391 in 23 at-bats. Joggerst also leads in runs (7), hits (9), total bases (12), and OPS (1.003).

Zachry Schneider and Isaac Epp have been solid on the mound for Truman, with Schneider having an ERA of 4.40 and Epp posting a 5.25 ERA. Schneider has made two starts with an 0-1 record, and Epp has also made two starts but is 1-0.
