EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Meg Heveroh earned a bronze medal in the women's 1000 freestyle event on the first full day of the 2024 Great Lakes Valley Conference Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday. Action resumes on Thursday with the 100 Butterfly, 400 IM and 200 Free events.
 
Heveroh was in the last section of the 1000 and swam 10:08.49, nearly seven seconds better than her season time of 10:15.12. She was seeded third entering the meet and held up that spot with her finish in the event. The winning time was by Justice Beard of Missouri-St. Louis at 10:03.17.
 
In the women's 50 free, Emily Traube earned a spot in the A-Final with the fourth fastest time in the prelims and finished fifth overall. Traube swam 23.38 in the morning session and was at 23.44 in the final. Both times were better than her season-best of 23.57 as she was seeded eighth entering conference.
 
Three Bulldogs scored points in the 200 IM finals. Chloe Myers was 12^th in the morning session with a time of 2:09.24 and placed 14^th overall at 2:10.11. Sidney Durbin and Allison Heaney swam in the C-Final. Durbin maintained her 18^th position with times of 2:11.90 in the morning and 2:10.70 in the evening. Heaney went from 24^th to 20^th as she had times of 2:13.89 and 2:13.36.
 
The 200 medley relays closed Wednesday's session with the women's team of Jahmia Harley, Myers, Durbin and Natalie Nguyen finishing seventh with a time of 1:49.71. The men's team of Evan Grinter, Ashton Bailey, Miles McIntyre and Cameron Lee placed ninth timing 1:33.86.
