KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – Truman State national champion Jacob Morris was named Academic All-American in men's Track & Field/Cross Country by the College Sports Communicators. Morris is the second Bulldog to earn the prestigious award joining Football's Justin Watson this academic year.
 
Morris was named to the second of three Academic All-America teams in Division II and was one of five representatives from the Great Lakes Valley Conference to earn the award. Joining Morris were Missouri S&T's Owen Fraser, Otto Knittel and Lucas Rackers along with Illinois Springfield's Court Ross.
 
Morris won the national championship at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championship in the Discus event.
 
The Academic All-America program began in 1952 and recognizes student-athletes who have achieved both academic and athletic excellence. There have been 123 Bulldogs that have earned the award since its inception.
