COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Truman State Men's Cross Country team finished 23
rd with 649 points competing in the Open 8-kilometer race as part of the University of Missouri's Gans Creek Classic on Friday morning.
Gavin Hill and
Andrew Gonski led the Bulldog contingent finishing identically at 26:26.9.
Over 300 runners across all collegiate divisions and associations competed in the open race. Hill and Gonski finished in a pack of runners in the 168-171 range. Evan AuBuchon was the third Bulldogs to cross in 26:38.2 and was 191
st overall.
Jacob Gutzman (26:41.0) and
Nolan Meara (26:57.6) were the final two scorers for the team with places of 198 and 221 respectively.
Truman State traveled 14 runners to the meet. The Gans Creek Meet was a make-up for the Bradley (Ill.) Intercollegiate race that was contested last Friday in Peoria, Illinois. Hot and humid weather conditions were not ideal for racing that afternoon and a decision was made to switch to Gans Creek.
The team will join the women's squad to race at the Missouri Western Griffon Invite next Saturday (October 5) in St. Joseph, Missouri.
