WARRENSBURG, Mo. - For the first time in over a decade, the Truman State Track & Field teams competed on the campus of the University of Central Missouri for the UCM Indoor Invitational on Friday.
The women's mile runners made the biggest mark during the meet with Sarah Williams leading a pack of seven Bulldog runners in the top nine of the event. Williams won with a PR time of 5:17.67 and was followed by Carmen Gentilia in third with a PR of 5:20.63, Clare Stahr in fourth at 5:21.69, Kendra Zeilstra in sixth at 5:29.26, McKenna Ledgerwood in seventh at 5:30.91 (PR), Jocelyn Dorsey in eighth at 5:31.85 (PR) and Sophia Kim in ninth at 5:34.96 (PR).
Other top finishers on the women's side were Kate Doyle with a third in the 3000-meter run (11:00.20-PR), Esme Aubuchon tying for third in the High Jump (1.47m), Madeline Sims placing fourth in the 600-yard run (1:32.86-PR) and Destiny Zimdars with a fourth in the Weight Throw (15.08-PR).
Leithym Messer had the top individual finish on the men's ledger with a fifth in the Weight Throw (17.02m). Justin Moeller was sixth (1.95m) and Max McMullen eighth (1.90m) in the High Jump, Brycen Compton eighth in the Mile (4:33.20) and Nolan Meara eighth in the 800-meter run (2:02.99).
Two events are scheduled next weekend for the team. The Central (Iowa) College Dutch Winter Multis begin on Thursday in Pella, Iowa while the majority of the squad heads to Topeka, Kansas for the Washburn Open on Friday.
