Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Winning Streak Snapped As Rockhurst Upends Truman State Men

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Rockhurst (Mo.) Hawks used a late first half push to take a lead that they would not surrender in downing the Truman State Men's Basketball team 76-65 on Thursday night. Kobi Williams led the Bulldogs with 18 points as their three-game winning streak came to an end.

The Bulldogs (11-8/5-6 GLVC) led by nine points at 33-24 with 3:12 to play in the first half but Rockhurst closed the half on a 10-2 run. They would go up on a three-pointer by Dan Carr on the first bucket of the second.

Brennan Lovette tied the game at 37 on the next Truman State possession but later a 14-0 spurt midway through the half proved to be too much to overcome.

Rockhurst (14-6/8-4 GLVC) outscored Truman State 13-5 in points off of turnovers.

Williams made three triples and finished with 18 points while pulling down nine rebounds. Trey Shearer and Xavier Hall both had a dozen points with Hall playing all 40 minutes and grabbing eight boards.

Rockhurst had five players in double figures led by Jesse White with 19.

Truman will take the quick hop up Interstate 35 to Liberty on Saturday and face William Jewell around 3 p.m.
