Bulldogs Earn Win Over Southwest Baptist, Draw with Drury in GLVC Play

Truman State women's soccer continued GLVC action over the weekend with a pair of home results, defeating Southwest Baptist 4–2 on Friday before battling to a 1–1 draw with Drury on Sunday at Stokes Stadium.

Friday vs. Southwest Baptist
The Bulldogs got off to a flying start in a match that saw six total goals. After SBU opened the scoring just 89 seconds in, Hanna Ritter quickly answered for Truman in the third minute off an assist from Quinn Nauman to tie it at 1–1.

Truman seized control later in the half. Greta Hanson buried a go-ahead goal in the 30th minute, assisted by Avery Bohnenstiehl, and Aubrey Kaupas extended the lead to 3–1 before halftime on a setup from Ella McCleary.

The Bulldogs added an insurance tally in the 87th minute when Gretchen Rock scored her first career goal, assisted by Abby Hutteger, to seal the 4–2 win. Goalkeeper Siman Loethen made one save in the victory as Truman finished with a 15–5 edge in total shots.

Sunday vs. Drury
Two days later, Truman battled one of the GLVC's top teams to a hard-fought 1–1 draw.

Drury struck first in the 20th minute on a goal from Kadence Krempges, assisted by Leah McDonald, but the Bulldogs found an immediate response. Just over two minutes later, Quinn Nauman netted the equalizer off a perfect cross from Madison Blomenkamp to make it 1–1.

Both teams had chances in the second half, but Loethen anchored the Truman defense with five saves to secure the draw. The Bulldogs finished with seven shots,f our on target, and matched Drury with four corner kicks apiece.

Truman closed the weekend with a 5-4-3 overall record (5-3-2 GLVC), extending their unbeaten streak at home to five matches.
