Bulldogs Celebrate Homecoming with 44–21 Win Over Quincy

Kirksville, Mo. - A fast start and dominant ground attack set the tone as Truman State powered past Quincy 44–21 on Homecoming at Stokes Stadium. The Bulldogs struck early and often, building a 24–0 halftime lead and never allowing the Hawks to recover.

On the game's opening drive, quarterback Dylan Hair got the crowd energized immediately, breaking free for a 52-yard touchdown run just 42 seconds into play. After a Quincy fumble on its next possession, Truman capitalized again when Denim Cook plunged in from two yards out to make it 14–0 less than seven minutes into the first quarter.

Truman continued to click offensively, with Diego Perez converting a 35-yard field goal midway through the first. The defense, meanwhile, repeatedly pressured Quincy quarterback Bradyn Little, forcing quick punts and limiting the Hawks to just 38 total yards in the opening period.

The Bulldogs kept rolling early in the second quarter. Hair connected with Gerard Grewe on a six-yard touchdown pass to push the lead to 24–0. Truman's defense stayed firm, recording multiple sacks and forcing a turnover on downs deep in its own territory to preserve the shutout heading into halftime.

Quincy found the end zone early in the third with a six-yard touchdown pass, but Truman answered immediately. After a muffed punt recovery set the Bulldogs up inside the 10, Cook powered in for his second touchdown of the afternoon. Quincy trimmed the deficit to 31–14 midway through the quarter, but Hair erased any chance of a comeback two drives later, slicing through the defense for a 62-yard scoring run to restore a 24-point advantage.

The Bulldogs closed things out with steady, clock-controlling drives in the fourth. Perez added field goals of 31 and 26 yards to extend the margin to 44–14 before Quincy found a late touchdown with 11 seconds left.

Truman's offense put up 447 total yards, including 282 on the ground, while the defense dominated the line of scrimmage, recording five sacks and forcing four fumbles on the afternoon.
