Truman State men's soccer earned an impressive road result on Friday night, blanking Quincy 1–0 at Jack Mackenzie Field behind a strong defensive performance and a clutch finish from Nathan Grewe.
The Bulldogs absorbed pressure throughout the first half as Quincy held a slight edge in possession and attempts, but the Truman back line, anchored by Zoran Sabbert, Braden Hannan, and goalkeeper Owen Robben, turned away multiple chances to keep the match scoreless through 45 minutes. Robben, who faced 15 shots on the night, made a key second-half save to preserve the shutout.
The breakthrough came early in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Grewe capitalized on a loose ball in the box and slotted home what would stand as the match's only goal. The finish marked his first of the season and gave Truman the 1–0 advantage.
From there, Quincy poured on the pressure, generating 12 second-half shots and six corner kicks, but Truman's defense remained disciplined. Robben and company repelled every late attack to close out the clean sheet, the Bulldogs' second shutout of the season.
The win improved Truman to 3-4-1 overall and 2-4-0 in GLVC play, while Quincy dropped to 5-2-1 (3-2-0 GLVC).
