Bulldogs Split Weekend Against Lewis, UIndy

Romeoville, Ill. / Indianapolis, Ind. – Truman Volleyball continued its strong start to conference play with a five-set road victory at Lewis on Friday night before narrowly falling in four competitive sets to UIndy on Saturday. The Bulldogs now sit at 6–10 overall and 3–1 in GLVC action after another impressive weekend showing.

Truman 3, Lewis 2 (14-25, 25-21, 25-23, 19-25, 15-10)

The Bulldogs opened the weekend with a statement road win, rallying from a first-set loss to take down Lewis in five.

After a slow start, Truman steadied its passing and found its rhythm behind a balanced attack. Sophomore Laci Neece had a breakout match, leading all players with 20 kills on .255 hitting, while Hannah Hosty added 11 and Michaela Goad tallied seven. The Bulldogs responded from a 25–14 opening-set loss to even the match in the second, then edged Lewis 25–23 in the third with a pair of late kills from Neece and a block assist by Autumn Erickson and Makayla Way.

Lewis forced a fifth set by taking the fourth, but Truman dominated the decider. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 7–3 lead behind Neece's offense and never looked back in a 15–10 win to clinch the match.

Truman posted 57 kills, 16 total blocks, and 100 digs as a team. Neece (20 kills, 12 digs) recorded a double-double, while Janssen led the defense with 30 digs and Tori Creason tallied 28 assists.

UIndy 3, Truman 1 (22-25, 27-25, 27-25, 25-22)

Saturday's matchup with UIndy was another tightly contested affair, featuring 28 ties and 11 lead changes across four sets.

Truman opened strong, taking the first set 25–22 behind efficient hitting from Erickson and Goad, who combined for seven kills. The Bulldogs narrowly dropped the next two sets, both extending beyond 25 points as Truman State survived multiple set points in each.

In the fourth, Truman again fought back from an early deficit, closing within 22–21 before the Greyhounds used a late 3–1 run to finish the match.

Erickson and Goad each recorded 11 kills, Hosty added 10, and Neece followed with nine. Creason and Molly Lambert combined for 43 assists, while Janssen anchored the defense with 22 digs. Makayla Way added seven blocks to lead the front line.
