Bulldogs Close Season with Hard-Fought Senior Weekend

Kirksville, Mo. – The Truman State Women's Soccer team wrapped up its 2025 season with a pair of home matches against Missouri–St. Louis on Friday and Maryville on Sunday, celebrating seven Bulldog seniors who have helped shape the program on and off the field.

Friday: Missouri–St. Louis 2, Truman State 0

Truman opened the weekend on Friday afternoon with a battle against one of the GLVC's top teams in Missouri–St. Louis. Despite a strong defensive performance and several key saves from goalkeeper Siman Loethen, who finished with eight stops, the Bulldogs fell 2-0.

Truman's back line, anchored by seniors Avery Bohnenstiehl and Greta Hanson, stood tall under consistent UMSL pressure, while Hanna Ritter and Anna Capellari helped generate offensive looks late in the match. Aubrey Kaupas and Ashley Klaus each recorded shots on goal, but UMSL's defense held firm to preserve the clean sheet.

Sunday (Senior Day): Maryville 4, Truman State 2

The Bulldogs capped the 2025 campaign with a spirited Senior Day performance at Stokes Stadium, trading goals with Maryville before falling 4-2.

Truman found early momentum after conceding the opening goal, equalizing in the 27th minute when Quinn Nauman finished off a perfect pass from Ashley Klaus. After Maryville reclaimed the lead before halftime, the Bulldogs pushed back late, highlighted by a goal from senior Anna Capellari in the 84th minute to close out her Bulldog career in style.

  • #26 Avery Bohnenstiehl once again provided leadership and composure in the defensive third.

  • #27 Hanna Ritter battled in the midfield throughout, marking her 39th career appearance.
