Bulldogs Fall in GLVC Quarterfinals; Conclude Breakthrough Season with First Tournament Berth Since 2020

Williamsville, Ill. – Truman State Volleyball closed its 2025 season on Friday evening in the GLVC Tournament quarterfinals, falling to No. 3 seed Quincy in straight sets (25–17, 25–22, 25–22) at Williamsville High School Fieldhouse. The Bulldogs finished the year 12–17 overall and 7–6 in the GLVC, marking the program's first postseason appearance since 2020.

GLVC Quarterfinal – Quincy 3, Truman 0

The Bulldogs battled throughout the quarterfinal matchup against one of the conference's top teams, staying within striking distance in both the second and third sets before the Hawks closed each frame late.

Truman produced a balanced offensive attack, finishing with 34 kills on .135 hitting, while Quincy hit .277 with 51 kills. The Bulldogs held their own defensively as well, posting 10 block assists and 54 digs, but the Hawks' efficiency at the net proved to be the difference.

Autumn Erickson led the Bulldogs with 7 kills on .261 hitting and added 4 block assists. Michaela Goad and Hannah Hosty each contributed 6 kills, while Makayla Way and Laci Neece added five apiece.

Setter Tori Creason anchored the offense with 25 assists and added a service ace and eight digs. Libero Addy Janssen again paced the defensive effort with 14 digs, giving her 485 on the season.

Truman stayed close late in both the second and third sets, tying the Hawks seven times in set two and eight times in set three, but Quincy's late-set execution carried the top-seeded Hawks into the semifinals.

Season in Review

The 2025 Bulldogs delivered one of the program's most meaningful seasons in recent years, highlighted by a return to the GLVC Tournament for the first time since 2020 and four All-GLVC Second Team selections. Truman finished the season 12–17, a six win improvement over 2024, and 7–6 in conference play, including wins over postseason qualifiers Maryville, Drury, and Lewis. The Bulldogs posted a strong defensive profile, ranking among the league's better blocking teams with 205 total blocks (2.07/set) and producing 1,645 digs (16.62/set).

Kills Leader – Autumn Erickson: 214 kills, .318 hitting, 71 total blocks
Kills Runner-Up – Michaela Goad: 201 kills, .231 hitting

Assists Leader – Tori Creason: 737 assists, 7.44 assists/set

Digs Leader – Addy Janssen: 485 digs, 4.90 digs/set

Blocks Leader – Makayla Way: 94 total blocks, 0.96 blocks/set

Aces Leader – Jessica Proszenyak: 31 aces, followed closely by Creason (27) and Erickson (25)

Efficiency Note – Erickson (.318), Way (.320), and Creason (.264) were Truman's three most efficient hitters among high-volume attackers.

Program Momentum

With a young core returning, including three All-GLVC rising juniors and an All-GLVC rising senior setter, the Bulldogs' postseason bid marked a significant step forward and positions the program for continued growth heading into 2026.
