Bulldogs Roll Past Rockhurst Behind Balanced Second Half

Kansas City, Mo. — Truman State women's basketball turned in one of its strongest performances of the season on Saturday afternoon, earning an 81–58 road win at Rockhurst inside Mason-Halpin Field House. After a tight opening quarter, the Bulldogs controlled the game on both ends, outscoring the Hawks 62–38 over the final three periods.

Rockhurst held a narrow 20–19 lead after the first quarter, but the Bulldogs quickly shifted the momentum with a decisive defensive stretch in the second. Truman limited the Hawks to just seven points in the frame and generated opportunities in transition and the half court to take a 35–27 advantage into the break.

The Bulldogs continued to build separation in the third quarter, using ball movement, pace, and strong bench contributions to outscore Rockhurst 24–13 in the period. Truman's offense remained efficient while the defense consistently disrupted Rockhurst's rhythm, and a 22-point fourth quarter capped a complete team effort as the Bulldogs pulled away for the 23-point victory.

Truman finished 29-of-60 from the field (.483), 9-of-27 from three (.333), and 14-of-18 at the free-throw line (.778). The Bulldogs outmatched Rockhurst with 41 rebounds compared to 32 for the Hawks, forced 15 turnovers, and outscored the Hawks 34–30 in the paint. Truman also held advantages in fast-break points (11–3), points off turnovers (14–8), second-chance points (7–3), and bench scoring (28–13). Rockhurst shot 23-of-62 (.371) overall and 5-of-25 (.200) from beyond the arc.

Emajin McCallop led Truman with 17 points, providing efficient scoring and strong play in the lane.  Avery Rausch added 16 points, while Mallory Ott pulled down a team-high twelve rebounds. Blass, Miller, and Ott tied for the team lead in assists with four each, and Truman placed multiple players in double figures and gained valuable minutes across the rotation.
