ROLLA, Mo. – Truman State's 52-42 lead midway through the second half evaporated as Missouri S&T charged back to win a late-season league matchup, 69-68.

Quientan McCafferty drained one of his two threes to cap a 16-4 giving the Bulldogs a ten-point margin with 10:50 to play. A jumper by junior guard
Xavier Hall, two of his 19 on the day, provided a 68-62 margin the Miners erased with a 7-0 run to prevent a three-game losing streak for the top team in the league. The loss snaps four wins in a row for the Purple and White dating back to a 65-55 win at William Jewell (Mo.) on Feb. 1.

Kobi Williams tallied 17 points going 7-12 from the field with seven boards and two assists. Senior guard
Trey Shearer, 6-11 from the floor and 2-5 from behind the arc, joined Williams and Hall scoring double figures with 14. Redshirt sophomore guard

The Miners kept the Bulldogs at bay halfway through the first before Truman State tied the affair at 13 all with 9:45 remaining on a Shearer field goal. Another deuce by Shearer provided a 31-28 lead with 0:35 left in the half before a Miner bucket and score off a turnover in the final seven seconds before the buzzer put the 'Dogs down 32-31 at the break.
Truman State (15-9, 9-7 GLVC) returns to Pershing Arena Thursday at 7:30 to take on Maryville (Mo.) with four games to play. The Miners stop a two-game losing streak to run their record to 20-3 overall, 14-2 GLVC.
