INDIANAPOLIS – Jordan Cunningham of the Truman State Women's Basketball team earned the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week honor after averaging 19 points in a pair of big home victories last week.
Cunningham made seven of eight shots, including three three-pointers, in the Bulldogs' 86-79 win over Maryville last Thursday evening. She added six rebounds, four assists, and four steals in 38 minutes of play.
On Saturday, Cunningham was 7-of-11 from the field with three more triples and six boards to go along with a season-high five steals as the Bulldogs knocked off Missouri-St. Louis 67-59.
The two wins pushed the Bulldogs into the top eight in the GLVC Points Rating System for qualification to the postseason tournament with two games remaining.
This is the first Player of the Week award for Cunningham, and she joins Molly Joyce as the second player on the team to win the award. Joyce was the recipient following the opening weekend of the season in November.
