BENTONVILLE, Ark. - Truman State Softball split its two softball games Saturday at the Alvy Early Memorial Classic in Bentonville, Ark. The Bulldogs lost the opener to Southeastern Oklahoma State 7-4 before bouncing back with a 9-0 win over Arkansas-Monticello. The team will wrap up the tournament with two more on Sunday.
In the first game, Truman fell 7-4 to Southeastern Oklahoma State. The Bulldogs held an early 2-1 lead but struggled to contain the Savage Storm's offense, which scored three runs in the second and added two solo homers. Truman fought back with runs in the fourth and sixth innings, but Southeastern Oklahoma added a late insurance run to seal the win.

In the second game, the Bulldogs dominated Arkansas-Monticello with a 9-0 shutout victory. Truman's offense exploded early, scoring seven runs in the first two innings.
Cassie Smith led the charge with three hits, a double, three runs, and two stolen bases.

Avaree Taylor added key RBIs, while pitcher
Lydia Feiste tossed a complete-game shutout, allowing just four hits over five innings.
Taylor went 4-for-4 on the day with three RBI, Smith was 5-for-7, Feiste was 3-for-5 with three RBI and the four-hitter pitching win.
