INDIANAPOLIS - Truman State Track & Field's Justin Moeller secured his podium spot and earned All-American honors with an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in the heptathlon.

Moeller was in 10th place after the first four events on day one. He ran a personal best of 7.27 seconds in the 60-meter dash, then scored 746 points with a 6.71-meter leap in the long jump, 580 points in the shot put with a mark of 12.11 meters, and 759 points by clearing 1.95 meters in the high jump.

On Friday, Moeller sprinted 8.49 seconds to take 862 points in the 60-meter hurdles, cleared 4.35 meters to claim 716 points in the pole vault, and, in the final event, ran a personal best of 2:48.51 in the 1000-meter run.

That total of 5,235 points was a personal best and gave him one more point than ninth-place finisher Braxton Stewart of Minnesota State, earning him the first-team All-America honor and a spot on the final podium. Pittsburg (Kan.) State's Hunter Jones won the national championship with a final total of 5,730 points.
