Moeller & Long Achieve NCAA Provisional Marks In Decathlon

BOLIVAR, Mo. – Justin Moeller and Hayden Long each achieved NCAA standards as the duo finished first and second in the decathlon at the Southwest Baptist Invite over the weekend.
 
Moeller won five of the 10 events and scored 6,732 points to claim top podium honors, surpassing the NCAA provisional standard of 6,294 points. He set personal bests in the 110-meter hurdles (15.05 seconds), discus (34.07 meters), and 1500-meter run (4:54.14).
 
Long won three other disciplines, taking the shot put, discus, and javelin. He achieved personal bests in the 100-meter dash (11.42 seconds), high jump (1.88 meters), 110-meter hurdles (16.51 seconds), and discus (44.83 meters), while scoring an overall personal best of 6,400 points.
 
Nick Fuess competed in his first decathlon and tallied 4,302 points to finish fifth. He established baseline times in the 100-meter dash and initial marks in the shot put, discus, pole vault, and javelin. He also recorded a personal best time of 18.60 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles.
