Justin Moeller earned a spot in the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships and will compete in the heptathlon on March 13-14 at the Fall Creek Pavilion in Indianapolis.
Moeller scored 5,232 points and claimed the Great Lakes Valley Conference heptathlon championship over the weekend. He set personal bests in two events and won four of the seven events during the conference meet.
His point total ranks him 14th at the national meet. West Texas A&M junior Romet Vahter enters the championships with a score of 5,532 points, one point ahead of Oklahoma Baptist senior Steven Schmidt.
Moeller is the first Bulldog to compete in the heptathlon on the national stage.
On Thursday, March 13, Moeller will compete in the 60-meter dash, long jump, shot put, and high jump. On Friday, the 60-meter hurdles, pole vault, and 1000-meter run will conclude the discipline.
