INDIANAPOLIS — Truman State runner Brycen Compton was named the final Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Track Athlete of the Week by league coaches on Wednesday.

Compton set a personal best in the 800-meter run, finishing 11th with a time of 1:55.08 at the Kip Janvrin Open in Indianola, Iowa, over the weekend. This surpassed his previous best of 1:55.41, set at the UCM Mule Relays earlier this month, and moved him to ninth on the GLVC Performance List heading into this weekend's conference championships.

Compton also contributed to the 4x400-meter relay team, which placed seventh with a time of 3:44.36.
