Truman State women's soccer faced a pair of GLVC contests over the weekend, falling 2–1 at McKendree on Friday before returning home Sunday for a 1–1 draw against Illinois-Springfield.
Friday at McKendree
The Bulldogs struck first on the road when Lia Quintero netted her second goal of the season in the 54th minute, giving Truman a 1–0 lead. The Bearcats rallied late, however, with Aubrey Andrews equalizing in the 81st minute and Maggie Gleckler scoring the winner just four minutes later to hand Truman a 2–1 defeat. Goalkeeper Siman Loethen made three saves in the loss.
Sunday vs. Illinois-Springfield
Back at Stokes Stadium, the Bulldogs once again took the lead early in the second half. Aubrey Kaupas converted a penalty kick in the 62nd minute to put Truman ahead 1–0. UIS responded quickly, with Kalli Drexler leveling the match in the 64th minute off a cross from Abbie Gleason. Both teams had chances down the stretch, but the game ended in a 1–1 draw. Loethen and Mikayla Thomas combined for two saves in goal for Truman throughout the course of the game.
The results moved Truman to 1-2-2 overall and 1-1-1 in GLVC play heading into the meat of the GLVC schedule.
