The Truman State cross country teams took on a loaded field at the Gans Creek Classic on Friday, racing a championship-style course across from Phillips Park. Facing programs from across the region, including multiple Division I squads, the Bulldogs treated the meet as a hard, useful test and came away with several strong individual efforts and experience of a course they will race on again later this season.
On the women's side, Junior McKenna Ledgerwood led Truman with a solid effort, posting the team's top finish in 46th (23:20.3). Carmen Gentilia and Ellie Webb followed with steady runs, and the Bulldogs got contributions up and down the lineup as they worked through a deep 6K field. The men's top Bulldog was Jacob Snyder, who finished 134th (27:27.5) in the large 8K race. Truman's men used the day to give race reps to a mix of veterans and newcomers and to sharpen their pack racing before the GLVC championships later this season.
