Truman State University Athletics Welcomes Cobb Hubbard as Assistant Athletic Director – Operations/Business Manager

Truman State University Athletics has announced the hiring of Cobb Hubbard as Assistant Athletic Director – Operations/Business Manager. Hubbard joins the Bulldogs after serving as Athletic Event Manager at Augustana University, where he oversaw game day operations for 22 athletic programs and managed logistics for more than 150 home events annually across both NCAA Division I and Division II environments.

A native of the Midwest, Hubbard earned both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration from Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a 3.77 GPA. During his time at Clarke, he also served as a Graduate Assistant of Sports Operations and Athletic Administration, working closely with athletic administration to manage home events, supervise student workers, and coordinate scheduling across all athletic programs.

Hubbard's background extends beyond athletic administration, bringing a well-rounded professional foundation that includes business operations, bookkeeping, team leadership, and hands-on project management. As a former collegiate basketball player, he also brings a student-athlete perspective to his new role, an experience that shapes his understanding of what it takes to support athletes at the highest level.

"I am excited and honored to be a part of the Bulldog family," Hubbard said. "I am looking forward to getting to know everyone on campus and getting involved within the community. I am eager to get to work by supporting our student athletes and coaches while helping make sure the department operates efficiently and at a high level each day."

Athletic Director Signe Coombs expressed enthusiasm about adding Hubbard to the administrative leadership team.

"We are excited to welcome Cobb to our Bulldog family and to our administrative leadership team," Coombs said. "This role is vital to sustaining and advancing the competitive and operational strength of Bulldog Athletics. Cobb brings valuable perspective as a former collegiate student-athlete, along with diverse experiences in athletic administration and business. We look forward to the leadership, expertise, and dedication he will bring to our department as we continue to provide a transformational experience for our student-athletes."

In his new role, Hubbard will be responsible for supporting the operational and business functions of the Truman State Athletics department. He joins a program looking to take the next step in high-level competitive success at the NCAA Division II level as a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
